The language in which a program can be written is called programming language.
or
The think by which two think can communicate is call language. The specific type of language which is used too communicate between man and computer is called programming language.
or
The programming language is the only way to give order to the machine (computer) to do the desired job.

 Programming language are of two types:

 1) high level language
2) Low level language
